Poplar Lumber
Poplar (or Liriodendron tulipifera), which is used in matchsticks, snowboard cores, and paneling, grows throughout the Eastern part of the United States. Being a medium density hardwood with very good strength and stability, poplar has a straight grain and a uniformly medium to fine texture. The wood's color can vary from creamy white to light green to pale yellowish-brown, depending on which part of the tree it originates. Poplar dries easily and holds paint and stain very well. |
