Maple

Soft Maple (or Acer rubrum), which can be seen in household furniture and musical instruments, grows throughout the Eastern part of the United States. Usually having a straight grain, soft maple is a hardwood with medium strength and hardness. Depending on which part of the tree it originates, the color of the wood can be a grayish white or even a light reddish brown. Maple dries slowly but can stain very well.
