Ash
Ash (or Fraxinus spp.), which can be seen in cabinetry and baseball bats, grows throughout the Eastern part of the United States. Having a uniformly coarse texture and generally straight, combination grain, ash has good overall strength and durability properties for a hardwood. The color of the wood, depending on which part of the tree it originates, can range from a light color (nearly white) to light brown to light yellow with brown streaks. Ash dries fairly quickly and stains very well. |
